Caregivers

As an active medical cannabis cardholder in New Mexico, you are allowed to assign yourself a caregiver if you are, at times, unable to purchase your own medicine. Caregivers may purchase and transport your medicine to you but they are not legally allowed to consume.

Requirements

  • You must be an active medical cannabis cardholder OR your application to be a cardholder has been submitted to the Dept of Health for approval.

  • All underage cannabis cardholders must have a caregiver.

  • The doctor who signed your application must sign the Caregiver Application.

  • Caregivers must have a valid NM ID or drivers license.

  • Caregivers must submit a federal background check with the Caregiver Application. (We recommend sentrylink.com or criminalwatchdog.com)

➺ Hepatitis C currently receiving treatment

➺ Inflammatory autoimmune-mediated arthritis (RA)

➺ Intractable nausea/vomiting

➺ Multiple sclerosis (MS)

➺ Damage to the nervous tissue of the spinal cord with proof of intractable spasticity

➺ Obstructive sleep apnea

➺ Painful peripheral neuropathy

➺ Parkinson's disease

➺ Post-traumatic stress disorder
